Collaboration in Action: HCSG Teams Focused on Service Excellence
At Healthcare Services Group (HCSG), our commitment to ‘People. Serving. Experience.’ drives everything we do. Our people are at the heart of delivering quality care and service. By working together, we create an environment where residents feel at home, clients have peace of mind, and employees are proud to serve.
Collaborating is essential to achieving quality care. Seamless coordination between environmental and dining services teams ensures efficiency, responsiveness, and quality service. While each department has its own responsibilities, teamwork strengthens our ability to serve. Across California, our district managers are fostering stronger partnerships between teams and creating growth opportunities, all while looking to enhance the overall resident experience.
Unified Approach

District Managers Taina Medellin and Sherrie Turner, who oversee three facilities together, conduct joint inspections at Temple City Convalescent Hospital. By reviewing operations side by side, they gain fresh insights and streamline processes. Taina shared, “I feel comfortable trusting that somebody from either team will always take care of possible issues because of the open communication we established.”
These visits also allow Taina and Sherrie to connect with clients and facility administrators. After each inspection, they share their findings to ensure transparency, reinforce trust, and identify solutions that support both departments.
Building Connections

At Kingsburg Center, District Managers Alex Cazares and Aarandeep Birk lead regular meetings to discuss compliance updates and administrator feedback. Alex noted, “These collaborations are a time to emphasize to our teams to have pride in everything they do.”
Since implementing these collaborations, Alex and Arandeep have seen greater engagement across departments. Arandeep shared, “Housekeeping staff interact with residents daily and often hear about dietary preferences before the dining team. When they openly communicate with one another, things run smoother, and residents benefit from better service.” Similarly, District Managers Sukhvinder Singh and Pedro Jaime emphasize teamwork across their departments. Pedro explained, “If someone from the housekeeping team needs assistance, I’ll step in and help, even though I’m in dining. It benefits everyone when both teams feel comfortable relying on each other.”
Strengthening Teams

At Santa Clara Post Acute, District Managers Daniel Hicks and Steven Harris focus on building trust between their teams. Steven emphasized, “Collaborating allows our teams to learn from each other naturally. It strengthens and enhances their confidence in handling different situations.”
Beyond improving day-to-day operations, collaboration also creates opportunities for growth and career development. Marci Juarez, Account Manager at Temple City Convalescent Hospital, shares how teamwork and mentorship have shaped her experience at HCSG: “I’m grateful to be part of HCSG, where there are always opportunities to grow and succeed. From the start, my District Manager has been incredibly supportive, teaching me to always be ‘survey ready’ and guiding my development.”
